Protest column today from the Assembly to TV Pink

(Patria) - In Belgrade and another 15 cities and municipalities, the ninth protest in a row, "Serbia Against Violence," is being held today.

It is planned that demonstrators in the capital will gather in front of the Serbian Assembly, and then they will head to the building of Pink television.

Citizens of Belgrade and Novi Sad blocked the highway at four locations yesterday, and protests are planned for today. Also, a blockade of two international railway lines has been announced.

In Belgrade, the gathering of demonstrators is scheduled for 6 p.m. in front of the National Assembly, as before, but the route of the march, as well as the end of the column, will be somewhat different. Namely, after speeches in front of the parliament, citizens will head down Knez Miloš Street to Mostar, and from there along Bulevar kneza Aleksandra Karađorđevića to the building of Pink television.

The reason for the march to that TV station is the announcement by its owner, Željko Mitrović, that preparations have begun for a new season of the reality show "Zadruga," whose cancellation has been demanded from the protests.

"On Saturday, we will gather around 6 p.m., and then we head to Pink. It is clear that when Željko Mitrović promises something in agreement with Vučić, it turns out to be a lie in the end. The two of them are thumbing their noses at the citizens. Instead of stopping the poison that is Zadruga, reality shows, and all their news programs, they are announcing a new reality show, which will be called Zadruga Elite," said Aleksandar Jovanović Ćuta, an MP from the Together party and leader of the Ecological Uprising, announcing the new protest.

Two blockades of the international railway line are also planned, near Smederevo and Niš, and a protest will be held in parallel with that. Nebojša Zelenović, leader of the Together party, says that this has been announced to the relevant authorities.

On the first day of the weekend, protests will be held in a total of 16 cities and municipalities. In addition to Belgrade, Niš, and Smederevo, citizens will gather and block local roads in Subotica, Kragujevac, Leskovac, Šabac, Zrenjanin, Pirot, Vranje, Žagubica, Kraljevo, Kuršumlija, Jagodina, Prokuplje, and Temerin.

We remind you that citizens are demanding the dismissal of Minister of Police Bratislav Gašić, BIA Director Aleksandar Vulin, the dismissal of all members of REM, the cancellation of reality programs that promote violence, the revocation of the national frequency of TV Pink and Happy, the dismissal of RTS management, and the closure of tabloids that propagate violence and violate the code.

At today's protest, actress Bojana Novaković, director Stevan Filipović, Suzana Milutinović, one of the professors from the Higher School in Ćuprija, as well as a representative of "Students Against Violence," will speak, the daily newspaper Danas reported.
