International Labour Day is being celebrated worldwide today in memory of the mass labor demonstrations held in Chicago in 1886. The demonstrations were organized in protest of the workers' demands for improved working conditions and the famous three eights: eight hours of work, eight hours of sleep, and eight hours of cultural education, writes Patria.
Thousands of workers gathered today in Moscow's main Red Square in front of the Kremlin, in Istanbul, although they wanted to reach Taksim Square, the police dispersed the protesters with tear gas, in Kyiv, Paris...
Citizens who took to the streets of Paris are also protesting the candidates in the French presidential elections.
