40 years since Sarajevo Olympics: You can still buy caps, ties, books, guides from 1984

(Patria) - One of the most significant and beautiful events Sarajevo remembers are the 14th Winter Olympic Games. Witnesses of that time claim that the citizens of Sarajevo breathed as one. Everyone tried to make the city as beautiful as possible, to make tourists and numerous guests feel as comfortable as possible, and they succeeded. Many guests from Sarajevo took the most beautiful memories with them.

The 14th Sarajevo Winter Olympics were, as the International Olympic Committee stated at the time, the best organized in history. All competitions and venues were located within a 25 km radius. The Olympic beauties Bjelašnica, Igman, Jahorina and Trebević, along with the venues in Sarajevo, were ready to welcome athletes from all over the world. Preparations for the Olympics lasted for years, but everything functioned flawlessly. That is why, even today, for many, especially for those who had a certain role at the time, the Olympics are a symbol of a better time.

As the 40th anniversary of the 14th Winter Olympics approaches, we looked for what souvenirs can still be bought today. Thus, more ads have been posted on OLX, selling original caps, badges, cufflinks, pens, postage stamps, books, keychains with Olympic symbols, and the unavoidable mascot of the '84 Winter Olympics, Vučko.

One seller is offering an original cap for 60 KM. Another is selling original Elan skis for 300 KM.

The official guide for the 14th Winter Olympics '84 was printed for guests, athletes, and journalists. In one of the ads, a well-preserved copy is being sold for 50 KM.

For 350 KM, one seller is offering a complete set of souvenirs, including a hat, scarf, brochures, press materials, badges, pens, coasters, and notebooks.

Among the ads are ties with motifs and symbols of the Games, priced at 15 KM each.
