(Patria) - Director of China's National Health Commission Lei Haichao says that the average life expectancy of Chinese people in 2024 has reached 79 years, an increase of 0.4 years compared to the previous year.
According to him, the Chinese state has thus achieved its goal within the economic and social development plan, reports state TV network CGTN.
Haichao points out that compared to 2019, the average life expectancy of Chinese people has increased by 1.7 years.
- The average life expectancy in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, as well as in eight provinces, including Shandong, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang, has exceeded 80 years - Haichao added.
