Discovery of a laboratory for growing and producing narcotic drugs

(Patria) - While conducting planned activities to find narcotic drugs, police officers of the Criminal Police Sector of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs, under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton and based on the Search Warrant of the Municipal Court Sarajevo, on 26.04.2022, searched apartments at three locations in the Sarajevo Canton area, used by individuals: A.M. born in 1979 and M.K. born in 1985, both from Sarajevo.

During the search of apartments at locations in Nedima Filipovića street, Novo Sarajevo municipality, Antuna Branka Šimića street, Novi Grad Sarajevo municipality, and Avde Hume street, Centar Sarajevo municipality, police officers found:

- one complete indoor laboratory for growing and producing the narcotic drug marijuana, consisting of three separate units with lighting, ventilation system, irrigation system, and other accompanying equipment,

- 160 plants that, by their appearance and morphological characteristics, resemble the plant species "Cannabis sativa",

- 3500 grams of dry, herbaceous matter that, by its appearance, is indicative of the narcotic drug marijuana intended for street sale,

- about 1000 seeds that, by their appearance, resemble the plant species "Cannabis sativa", and which are used for growing the narcotic drug marijuana,

- two digital scales for precise measurement,

- money in the amount of 1725 EUR and 1700 KM.

Due to the grounds for suspicion that they have committed the criminal offense under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of FBiH (unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs), in conjunction with Article 31 of the Criminal Code of FBiH (accomplices), police officers deprived of liberty the individuals A.M. born in 1979 and M.K. born in 1985, both from Sarajevo.

The acting prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton was informed of the event, and the deprived individuals were handed over to the detention facilities for persons deprived of liberty of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The deprived individuals will be handed over to the further jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of KS, after the criminal investigation is completed, by order of the duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton.
