Body of boy Patrik Fogadić found, police searching for body of mother Ivana

As reported by List Međimurje, around 7 a.m. the operation to pull out the car located in the canal of the HE Čakovec between Orehovica and Otok began, after on Wednesday evening the police found the body of a boy in the accumulation lake of HE Dubrava near Prelog.

Although not officially confirmed, it is five-year-old Patrik Fogadić. The boy's body was identified by his uncle, Robert Fogadić, who assisted in searching the accumulation lakes.

It is assumed that it is the Opel Astra with which Ivana Fogadić left the family home in the settlement of Totovec two days ago, taking with her 5-year-old son Patrik, after she posted a farewell letter on Facebook with a message about suicide and announced that she would take her son to death as well.

The car is at a depth of 5 to 6 meters, and due to darkness, the extraction was stopped last night and resumed today. The police hope that after pulling out the car, they will be able to uncover details of the tragedy in which 29-year-old Ivana Fogadić and her son Patrik lost their lives. It is assumed that Ivana's body is in the car. If it is empty, the search continues further. Spokesman of the Međimurje Police Department Radovan Gačal notes that there are still several locations that have not been searched, where the body of Ivana Fogadić could be located.

An autopsy and final identification of the child will be carried out today.
