Laboratory for growing and producing the narcotic drug marijuana found and seized

(Patria) - Taking measures and actions to implement the operational action codenamed “BOTANIKA”, under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, police officers of the Department for Combating Narcotic Drug Abuse - Sector of Criminal Police, Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, in Humska Street, Municipality of Novo Sarajevo, searched the house, yard, and accompanying premises used by E.K., born in 2001 in the Netherlands, residing in Sarajevo, as well as a passenger motor vehicle used by the said person. During the search, a complete "LABORATORY" for growing and producing the narcotic drug marijuana was found and seized, containing the following:

- 106 plants with a height of 50 to 160 cm, which are indicative of the plant species “CANNABIS SATIVA”, and

- 2.7 kg of dry herbaceous matter, which is indicative of the narcotic drug marijuana.

Also seized from E.K. were 4 mobile phones and one ID card in someone else's name, which is suspected to be forged.

On 12/14/2021, at 03:15 AM, E.K. was deprived of liberty, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed criminal offenses from Article 238, Paragraph 1, and Article 373, Paragraph 2, in conjunction with Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Unauthorized Production and Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs and Forgery of Documents), after which he was handed over to the premises of the Unit for Security of Objects and Detention of Persons Deprived of Liberty of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton. After the completion of the criminal investigation, he will be handed over to the jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton along with an official report on the committed criminal offenses.
