(Patria) - The promotion of my new novel “Stoljeće Natalije Milas” will be held at the Bosnian Cultural Center of the Sarajevo Canton, on Thursday, June 11, starting at 7 PM. Guests will include writer Željko Ivanković, actress Minka Muftić, and journalist Dževdet Tuzlić.
Ruždija Adžović's new novel “Stoljeće Natalije Milas” brings the story of a distinctive woman, who, by the length and uniqueness of her life, has given the novel its title with reason, and has reached us in literary form as an incredible heroine worthy of the world stage, the brightest platforms on which she moved so confidently.
It is about an unusual literary character, actually a heroine, who literally spanned an entire turbulent century with her lifespan and who, carrying within herself all the distinctiveness of our patriarchal customs, steps out into the big world, one might say, without any complexes.
The novel is spread across several epochs, continents, many countries and cities - from Paris, Baku, Tunis, Dakar, Casablanca, Belgrade, all the way to Kotor - where the main heroine sought her place under the sun, and that at a time between the two world wars, when it was not desirable for a lady to travel alone even to a neighboring city. The main heroine Natalija Milas socialized with famous personalities, artists, poets, actors, among whom were: Sergey Yesenin, Tin Ujević, Gustav Krklec, Sava Šumanović, Rade Drainac, Sava Kovačević. And all of them left a deep mark on her life.
