Gambling revenue in FBiH in 2022 amounted to 1.7 billion KM, record public revenue collection

(Patria) - According to data from the FBiH Tax Administration, taxpayers in the Federation of BiH owe more than 3.1 billion KM. During 2022, the FBiH Tax Administration collected 6.4 billion in public revenue, which is a 13.7 percent increase compared to 2021 and the largest amount ever collected. 

The Director of the FBiH Tax Administration, Šerif Isović, explained that contributions accounted for 68.7 percent of the total collected revenue, and direct tax revenue accounted for 19.5 percent.

He stated that the most was collected in Sarajevo Canton – 2.3 billion KM, followed by Tuzla Canton with 1.1 billion KM, and Zenica-Doboj Canton with 843,415,389 KM.

According to Tax Administration data, there were 538,312 employed persons during 2022. The most employees are in KS with 145,828, followed by TK with 103,904. 

One of the main problems facing the FBiH Tax Administration is the lack of staff, the departure of IT experts, and inadequate office space. According to the FBiH Tax Administration's staffing plan, 471 employees are missing. 

Tax Administration data shows that the revenue from sports betting in the FBiH in 2022 amounted to 1,712,384,153 KM, which is an increase of 114,011,816 KM compared to 2021.
