With the Konjic-Mostar North section construction project, Jablanica remains without a highway connection

The decision of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, adopted at the session held on February 12 in Mostar, which establishes the model for the implementation of the project for the construction of the Konjic-Mostar North highway section on Corridor Vc, and according to which the municipality of Jablanica remains without a highway connection, will have unforeseeable consequences for the population and development of our municipality, reports the Patria news agency.

- According to the aforementioned decision of the FBiH Government, the determined route of Corridor Vc runs through the Bijela valley, through the Prenj mountain, with connecting interchanges in Ovčari to the north and in Vrapčići to the south.

We remind the public of our Municipality that only two years ago, a general hysteria was created against the cadres of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who held positions as ministers of transport, both at the federal and state levels, regardless of the fact that then, as today, all SDP BiH councilors in the Municipal Council (MC) of Jablanica unequivocally and unreservedly supported the Declaration of the MC which completely rejected the initiative to change the route on Corridor Vc.

The population of Jablanica was at the time misinformed in various ways with the aim of labeling the SDP and its people as the main culprits for the route change, despite the fact that even then, the „force“ that made this shameful and, for the residents of the municipality of Jablanica, fatal decision last week, participated in creating the disputed route.

We remind the public that the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina consists of the Prime Minister and ministers from the SDA-SBB-HDZ coalition, who have an absolute majority in the parliaments, and are therefore the sole and exclusive culprits for the adoption of the disputed decision, which will leave our municipality in total isolation.

We in the SDP are surprised by the silence of the Mayor of the Municipality, as well as relevant political entities who did not react to the adoption of this decision. We ask ourselves whether their silence also means tacit consent to the decision that Jablanica becomes a dead end and that its only connection is a road to the past, and certainly not to the future? - stated the SDP.
