Defence industry production increased by 40.08 percent, exports over 70 million KM

According to official data on the production of the defence industry of the Federation of BiH, the total realized turnover in the first nine months of 2014 from the sale of defence and non-defence articles and the provision of services on foreign and domestic markets amounts to 95,237,991.17 convertible marks, representing an increase of 40.8 percent compared to the total realized turnover in the same period of 2013, it was announced from the Government of FBiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Realized exports for the first nine months of 2014 amount to 71,957,080.86 KM, which represents an increase of 28.7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

The most significant exporters in the first nine months of this year, with a majority share of state capital ownership, are the companies Igman d.d. Konjic with exports worth 34,425,413.99 KM, Unis Ginex d.d. Goražde with 12,399,889.54 KM, and Pretis d.d. Vogošća with 8,977,229.09 KM. Significant exports were also achieved by two companies with majority private capital - PTG d.d. Goražde and Pobjeda Rudet d.d. Goražde.

The defence industry of the Federation of BiH achieved a foreign exchange surplus of 39,077,030.31 KM or 54.2 percent in the first nine months of 2014.

The realized turnover of funds for NGOs, market articles, and services that defence industry companies realized on the domestic market in the first nine months of 2014 totals 23,250,360.74 KM, which is 11,559,302.24 KM or 98.9 percent more than in the same period of 2013. An increase in domestic turnover in the first half of 2014 was achieved in all segments of the production range of defence industry companies in the Federation of BiH.

Defence industry companies in the Federation of BiH, as of September 30, 2014, have contracted significant export deals worth 175,824,158.01 KM, of which 163,482,013.55 KM is for the defence program, 12,222,635.42 KM for the civilian program, and 119,509.04 KM for services. Part of the realization of contracted deals is planned to continue in 2015.

Currently, Igman d.d. Konjic, Unis Ginex d.d. Goražde, Pretis d.d. Vogošća, and BNT TMiH d.d. Novi Travnik have the most significant volume of contracted deals for the upcoming period.

The market for defence industry products has been constantly expanding over the past four years, and today, based on contracted and realized deals, it can be said that our defence industry products have a market in 54 countries, including the USA, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Switzerland, Malaysia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Thailand, Slovakia, Egypt, Romania, Greece, Philippines, Spain, Czech Republic, Belgium, Montenegro, Austria, UAE, Croatia, Macedonia, Germany, Poland, Taiwan, France, Belgium, Sweden, and others.

The mentioned data confirm that significant progress has been made in production in this industry in the Federation of BiH over the past four years, all in accordance with the Development Strategy of the Defence Industry in the Federation of BiH, which was adopted by the Government and Parliament of FBiH at the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining, and Industry, it was announced from FMERI.
