Program of short-term and medium-term measures, aid to the economy in KS

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In order to improve transparency and the quality of the process of preparing and adopting the document of amendments to the Program of short-term and medium-term measures of significance for mitigating the negative economic consequences on the economy in the Sarajevo Canton caused by the coronavirus, the Minister of Economy of the Sarajevo Canton Adnan Delić held a working meeting today with the members of the recently formed commission for its preparation.

Minister Delić appointed representatives of the academic and business communities, the non-governmental sector, the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, the Ministry of Finance, and the relevant Ministry of Economy to its composition.

We remind you that the implementation of this amended program is foreseen by the Law on Mitigating Negative Economic Consequences and Savings in the Sarajevo Canton.

It stipulates that the Government of the Sarajevo Canton, in accordance with the secured funds, will ensure the financing of all or part of the minimum monthly net salary at the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the months of 2021 for activities whose work is significantly hindered due to the consequences caused by the pandemic.

This law also specifies that the Government may, by decision, approve the payment of applicable taxes and contributions on the minimum monthly net salary at the FBiH level to entities whose work it has prohibited by its decision, for the period of this ban.

It was emphasized at today's meeting that this commission is already significantly involved in the preparation of this program, so that it is ready for adoption by the KS Government as soon as possible, and thus becomes fully operational.

"I estimate that this document will be considered and adopted by the KS Government by the end of this week, after which further activities will be undertaken in terms of its operationalization, i.e., the implementation of the relevant financing," announced Minister Delić, and thanked the members of this working body for their efficiency.
