A man suspected by police of murdering a professor at a university in Mississippi committed suicide after an all-day manhunt, American media reported, according to the Patria news agency.
Geography professor Shannon Lamb shot himself at Delta State University after police surrounded him and soon died from a gunshot wound. A manhunt was organized for him on suspicion that he murdered history professor and colleague Ethan Schmidt on Monday.
Lamb was suspected of also killing Amy Prentiss in the town of Gautier, 480 kilometers from the university, before murdering Schmidt. University colleagues stated they could not speculate on the motives for the murder.
