Detention extended for Elvis Ćustendil, accused of murdering Amra Kahrimanović

(Patria) - Following the confirmation of the indictment against Elvis Ćustendil, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of "Murder", a hearing for the extension of detention was held before the Cantonal Court in Tuzla.

The accused's detention has been extended, which can last for a maximum of three years after the confirmation of the indictment and before the pronouncement of the first-instance verdict, with the court being obliged to review the justification of the detention measure every two months, so according to this decision, the detention can last until 08/10/2024 at the latest, or until a new court decision.

Detention is extended due to the severity of the criminal offense with which the accused is charged, for which a prison sentence of 10 years or more can be imposed, or due to the existence of reasons from Article 146, Paragraph 1, Point d) of the Law on Criminal Procedure of FBiH.

We remind you that Elvis Ćustendil (51) from Tuzla, at the time an official of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of TK, is accused of shooting Amra Kahrimanović with his service pistol on the evening of February 7, 2024, and killing her.

An appeal against this decision can be filed with the Supreme Court of FBiH, announced the Cantonal Court Tuzla.
