The world was shaken yesterday by the news of three terrorist attacks on three continents, which shows how widespread and strong the network of terrorism actually is. According to an analysis by The Telegraph, as many as 64 cities around the world are at "extreme risk" of terrorist attacks, most of them in the Middle East and Asia, but also three in Europe, reports the Patria News Agency.
The cities were ranked based on the intensity and frequency of attacks since February last year, and the number and strength of attacks in the last five years were also taken into account.
There are 27 such cities in the Middle East, while there are 19 such cities in Asia. Approximately 14 are in Africa, where the rapid rise in the influence of Boko Haram and al-Shabaab has affected political stability. The European cities that are at the greatest risk of terrorist attack according to this index are Lugansk and Donetsk in Ukraine, and Grozny in Russia.
