All Move-in Deadlines Missed: Dobrinja 5 Apartment Owners Paying Rent and Loans!

The Sarajevo Canton Housing Fund has been delaying the completion of works on the residential building in Dobrinja 5 settlement, Branislava Nušića street, for months, and among the 120 apartment owners, there were those who had to rent apartments because they cannot move into their already purchased ones, reports Patria agency.

Feriha and Muhamed Sušić bought an apartment and a garage, but now due to the delay in works, and after selling their previous apartment, they are living as tenants.

- If we don't move in by the end of September, we plan to request a refund and another solution from the Cantonal Housing Fund and Džekos – state the Sušićs.

The price of apartments ranges from 80,000 to 120,000 KM, and considering that the apartments have already been paid for, the question arises where and how the money was spent and why the works were delayed.

Out of the three entrances to the block, only apartments in the first one have been occupied, while works in Blocks B1 and B2 are still not completed. Although the contractual deadline for completion of works was March 2017, the outraged apartment owners are on the verge of despair. According to information obtained by Patria agency, even the first entrance does not have a use permit; only a technical acceptance has been carried out.

The tenants were aware that delays were possible, but no one expected it to last more than half a year. Now they are publicly stating that they have no more patience.

The director of the Cantonal Housing Fund, Adnan Efendić, in a conversation with Patria agency, admits that people are right and that there is a delay in the execution of works. The contractor is the construction company Džekos.

Efendić said that a request has been submitted to the Municipality of Novi Grad for the issuance of a use permit.

- The commission visited the site and should now submit a report, after which we expect the use permit. The goal is to issue the permit as soon as possible and for people to move into their apartments – said Efendić.

The ball is now in the court of the municipal administration.

A particular problem for apartment owners is also the insufficient number of parking spaces in front of the building. Only about twenty spaces are planned for approximately 160 apartments.
