Businessmen Consulted on New BiH Public Procurement Law

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Consultations were held yesterday at the FBiH Chamber of Commerce regarding the drafting of the Proposal for a new Law on Public Procurement of BiH.

The expert team working on the preparation of the new law presented the reasons for adopting the new Law on Public Procurement, key provisions, and essential changes to interested parties via an online platform.

The FBiH Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce of RS, at the initiative of numerous business companies, have begun the process of harmonizing views and creating a new Law on Public Procurement of BiH.

The goal is to eliminate numerous shortcomings of the public procurement system and fulfill the obligations undertaken on the path of European integration. Improving the public procurement system, ensuring staff training, and full digitalization are tasks set for the expert team.

After the expert team presented the working version of the new law, the consultation participants presented their opinions, suggestions, and proposals, which will be considered and, if possible, incorporated into the law.

The FBiH Chamber of Commerce will continue consultations with its members to arrive at a law that will ensure a quality public procurement system.
