Businessmen from RS and FBiH are united: We are suffering huge damages due to politics

(Patria) - The Employers' Association of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Union of Employers' Associations of the Republika Srpska are calling on the highest representatives of political parties and institutions at all levels in Bosnia and Herzegovina to make the greatest efforts to stabilize the political situation in the country.

The negative political rhetoric we have witnessed recently is causing great damage to the economy and negatively affecting the standard of living of citizens. The unstable political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina not only deters new investors but also causes the withdrawal or suspension of initiated investments. A significant number of export-oriented companies are facing the problem of complete cancellation of existing or inability to obtain new orders, citing political instability in Bosnia and Herzegovina as the reason by foreign partners. Economic activities in the country, jobs, and public revenues are directly threatened in this way.

Due to all of the above, and in the interest of the economy and citizens, the Employers' Association of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Union of Employers' Associations of the Republika Srpska are appealing to political representatives to take concrete steps towards stabilizing the political situation. Political representatives must bear in mind that by acting to stabilize the political situation, they are acting in the interest of citizens and the economy.

In this regard, employers believe that it is necessary to enable the unimpeded functioning of executive and legislative institutions as soon as possible, in order to allow the adoption of decisions and laws necessary to strengthen stability and improve the business environment. In addition to the above, we call on representatives of the executive and legislative authorities at all levels in Bosnia and Herzegovina to start activities as soon as possible on adopting key reform laws with the aim of improving the business environment and strengthening the economy.
