FBiH Chamber of Commerce: Buy Domestic - Build Bosnia and Herzegovina

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina supports and promotes Bosnian-Herzegovinian companies on a daily basis through a series of activities, which, now in extraordinary circumstances due to the coronavirus pandemic, are dedicating all their capacities and workforce to timely supply the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its citizens.

On this occasion, the FBiH Chamber of Commerce is re-initiating the campaign "Buy Domestic - Build Bosnia and Herzegovina", because only in this way, united with the same goal, can we build Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was announced from the Chamber.

"By consciously buying Bosnian-Herzegovinian products, we support the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which, despite difficult conditions due to the emergence of the coronavirus, has directed all its capacities to supplying the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at a time of limited exports and the closure of many EU borders. In addition to directing the production capacities of Bosnian-Herzegovinian companies, it is important to mention the allocation of financial resources by Bosnian-Herzegovinian companies for medical equipment, and the redirection of production in order to supply the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina," the Chamber states.

The current crisis and state of "disaster" is the best indicator of the importance of a stable and strong domestic economy. Therefore, this is an exceptional opportunity for changes, reforms, and raising the awareness of individuals, as well as the state.

They call on all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to buy domestic, Bosnian-Herzegovinian products, not only during the crisis caused by the coronavirus, but also afterwards.

The Chamber of Commerce reminds:

• Domestic products are made from the fruits of the domestic economy, which offers quality and familiar content
• Food produced in Bosnia and Herzegovina is much better for us and our health, which is confirmed by the shorter time required for transporting groceries from the production hall to the table
• Domestic companies employ people from Bosnia and Herzegovina
• Buying domestic products is an investment in the future. By supporting local entrepreneurs, you ensure a stable future for new generations
• The domestic economy builds the community. Buying domestic products directly affects the quality of the healthcare system as the fundamental institutions of every community. By developing the local economy, the healthcare and education systems achieve great benefits, which is a prerequisite for their quality.
• If every citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina spent 10 KM choosing domestic products, it would directly mean 10 KM X 3,500,000 inhabitants = 35,000,000 more income (monthly). 35,000,000 X 12 months = 420,000,000 more income for the domestic economy = new jobs, more secure and fuller pension funds, better healthcare, higher quality and more modern education. One job in production leads to 5-7 jobs in related industries
• If every citizen, when building or purchasing necessary appliances, chooses only 10% more domestic products, it would mean 1,000,000 households X 300 KM annually = 300,000,000 KM more income for the domestic economy = new jobs, more secure and fuller pension funds, better healthcare, higher quality and more modern education
• Furthermore, when spending 10 KM on domestic products, 8 KM remains in BiH, while when buying imported products, 2 KM remains = no new jobs, empty pension funds, poor healthcare, low-quality and outdated education
• By consciously buying Bosnian-Herzegovinian products, let's stimulate domestic production, mitigate the consequences caused by the coronavirus, and prevent the downfall of many companies.
