Detained for domestic violence, then died at the police station in Kalesija, autopsy ordered

(Patria) - On 22.11.2025, domestic violence was reported to the Kalesija Police Station. After arriving at the scene, it was determined that the reported 31-year-old O.K. was under the influence of alcohol, and he was deprived of his liberty and detained in the holding cells of the Kalesija Police Station, as per the instructions of the judge of the Municipal Court in Kalesija.

An urgent protection measure was also issued against him due to domestic violence, and the duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla Canton was informed of the incident.

The following day at 7:33 AM, the Operative Center of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of TK was informed that O.K., who was detained in the holding cells of the Kalesija Police Station, showed no signs of life.

"The Emergency Medical Service of the Health Center was called, and upon arrival at the scene, the coroner determined that O.K. was deceased, with no visible injuries or signs of violent death," the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of TK announced.

The duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla Canton was informed of the incident and, together with the investigation team of the Criminal Police Sector of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of TK, conducted an investigation and issued an order for the transport and autopsy of the deceased's body.

All further measures and actions to determine the exact factual situation and circumstances of O.K.'s death will be taken under the supervision and according to the instructions of the cantonal prosecutor.
