(Patria) - Preparations for the 27th Sarajevo Film Festival screenings are in full swing! One of the most attractive festival locations – Coca-Cola Open Air Cinema, where films from the Open Air program are shown, has been divided into sectors. There is additional space between each row, allowing for the necessary physical distance, and each viewer gets more space for themselves. People who come together can sit next to each other.
Enjoy the unique atmosphere of watching films from the Open Air program on the largest cinema screen in the region! The 27th Sarajevo Film Festival is a COVID-safe event that will be held in accordance with the opinion of the Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton and according to the measures and instructions issued by the Public Health Institute of Sarajevo Canton for the Sarajevo Film Festival.
The festival begins on Friday, August 13, with the world premieres of two Bosnian-Herzegovinian films: DESET U POLA by Danis Tanović and the omnibus PISMA S KRAJEVA SVIJETA by the film collective Bistrik7, an international group of first-generation directors at the film.factory of the cult director Béla Tarr.
Anti-COVID measures include all festival visitors being registered as vaccinated, recovered, or tested, and include mandatory disinfection of hands and shoes, physical distancing, and wearing a protective mask when entering and leaving closed festival locations. Wearing a mask is also recommended during the screening. Due to reduced cinema capacities, it is necessary to sit in marked seats.
To facilitate and speed up access to festival locations for visitors, the Festival will issue COVID-safe accreditations.
