SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The 2022 World Police and Fire Games were held in Rotterdam, with over 10,000 athletes from 70 countries participating.
A member of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Anes Ličina, was the only representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina at these Games, competing in judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Anes Ličina, in the -94.1 kg category of Brazilian jiu-jitsu, defeated a representative of Great Britain in the semifinals, but forfeited the final match without a fight due to an insufficiently healed rib injury, which he had brought to Rotterdam, and a re-injury during the semifinal bout.
“First of all, I must thank the director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mirsad Vilić, who strongly supports me and other athletes and has understanding for all sports activities pursued by members of the Directorate. I am happy that I managed to win a silver medal, but at the same time I regret that I am unable and will not be able to compete in judo, which is on the program in two days. The official doctor at the medical center recommended that I should not continue fighting today, which is why I forfeited the final match,” stated Anes Ličina.
