Members of the BiH Armed Forces dispatched to peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan

Parliamentary Military Commissioner Boško Šiljegović and the highest officials of the Armed Forces of BiH, NATO Headquarters Sarajevo Command and EUFOR, representatives of the military-diplomatic corps accredited in BiH and the media, attended the ceremonial send-off of the first rotation of the BiH Armed Forces to the new mission of the coalition forces "Resolute Support" from the 4th Infantry Brigade to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

The ceremony was held at the barracks "Božan Šimović" in Čapljina.

This unit will carry out its mission as part of the American Combat Group of the coalition forces in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

The dispatch of the rotation of the Infantry Unit of the BiH Armed Forces to the peacekeeping mission was preceded by the selection of candidates through very demanding, comprehensive, and physically strenuous two-month training. The majority of the training was conducted at the training ground in the barracks "Miralem Jugo" Livač and the shooting range "Gorica" Čapljina.

In accordance with the Protocol of the ceremonial proceedings, the soldiers being sent on the mission were addressed by: Commander of the 4th Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Tomo Kolenda, and Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces for Operations, Major General Mirko Tepšić.

The ceremony concluded with the handover of the state flag to the unit commander, Major Josip Brajković, by the Commander of the Operational Command of the BiH Armed Forces, Brigadier General Dragan Vuković.
