Members of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina prevented the smuggling of 32 nationals of Afro-Asian origin

(Patria) - Members of the Border Police prevented the smuggling of 26 persons of Afro-Asian origin at the International Border Crossing Brod.

The smuggling was discovered at the second line of border checks during the inspection of a cargo motor vehicle of the brand DAF and a trailer of the brand Wielton, with Polish registration plates, driven by a Belarusian national D. T.

Due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that the criminal offense of People Smuggling under Article 189 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina was committed, the duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina was informed. The suspect was deprived of liberty and a report on the committed criminal offense will be submitted to the competent prosecutor's office.

The cargo vehicle and other evidence were temporarily seized, and the smuggled migrants were handed over to members of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs for further processing.

On the same day, members of the Border Police in Doljani prevented the smuggling of 6 nationals of Afro-Asian origin in the place Crveni Grm, municipality of Ljubuški.

The smuggling was discovered during the stop of a passenger vehicle of the brand VW Touran with registration plates of Bosnia and Herzegovina, driven by a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina B. M. A vehicle of the brand Audi, driven by A. M., a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was acting as a precursor to the said vehicle.

After criminal processing, the suspects for the committed criminal offense of People Smuggling under Article 189 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina were deprived of liberty, and the vehicle and evidence were temporarily seized. A report on the committed criminal offense will be submitted to the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the smuggled migrants, after being examined as witnesses, will be handed over to the Service for Foreigners' Affairs for further processing.
