(Patria) - As a socially responsible company, Gorenje Commerce Sarajevo, in cooperation with the Municipality of Ilidža, donated 185 air purifiers to 14 elementary schools in the Municipality of Ilidža, with a total market value of 30,000 KM.
The Mayor of the Municipality of Ilidža, Nermin Muzur, expressing his gratitude to Gorenje Commerce, stated that this is a move that should serve as an example to other companies.
- This is truly a prime example of how the public and private sectors should cooperate. I sincerely hope that this move by Gorenje will inspire other companies to decide on something similar. The Municipality of Ilidža has worked hard in the past period to improve the conditions for elementary school students in the municipality of Ilidža, as well as for younger children attending kindergartens - emphasized Mayor Muzur, who did not hide his delight at the short performance organized by the students of the Second Elementary School during the handover of the devices.
The Gorenje brand, as part of Hisense Europe, has received the "Green Star" certificate for sustainable development and climate action. Sustainable principles are firmly embedded in the mission, vision, strategy, and business models of Hisense Europe. Gorenje has been awarded four stars, placing it in the "Green Leader" category.
Abdurahman Drkić, Sales Director for the markets of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasized that Gorenje Commerce, a company with its headquarters and local offices precisely in the Sarajevo municipality of Ilidža, is aware of the pollution issues in Sarajevo, hence the need for cooperation with the local community arose.
- For us, as a socially responsible company, caring for the youngest generations is one of our priorities. Precisely for this reason, we decided to donate 185 air purifiers to elementary schools in the Municipality of Ilidža, thereby ensuring cleaner air in places where our children spend most of their time. This is just one of a series of actions through which we want to help the community and provide our fellow citizens with better living conditions, and I am sure that we will not stop here - said Drkić.
The principals of Ilidža elementary schools thanked the director and employees of Gorenje, as well as the Municipality of Ilidža and Mayor Nermin Muzur.
In addition, the Hisense air purifiers that will be installed in elementary schools have a three-layer filter with a pre-filter, a HEPA filter, and an activated carbon filter. Thanks to them, dust, odors, bacteria, formaldehyde, pollen allergens, PM 2.5, and other harmful particles in the air are effectively removed.
