Police officer injured during operation, one person arrested

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Police officers of the Department for Combating Narcotic Drug Abuse of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton Police Administration, under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton and based on a warrant obtained from the Municipal Court of Sarajevo, carried out an operational action codenamed "Drina".

During the implementation of planned activities, police officers, in order to verify identity, identified I.B., born in 1983 from Sarajevo, who physically attacked police officers during that time, causing minor injuries to one of them, after which he was subdued and arrested.

After that, police officers searched an apartment in Drinska Street, in the area of Novo Sarajevo municipality, used by I.B., and during the search, they found and seized, with a certificate of temporary confiscation of items: 1 (one) plastic bag with the content of dry herbal matter that resembles the narcotic drug marijuana, with a total weight of 250 grams, 6 (six) plastic bags with the content of dry herbal matter that resembles the narcotic drug marijuana, with a total weight of 50 grams, one digital scale for measuring, and remnants of unknown matter that resembles the narcotic drug marijuana.

Police officers of the Department for Combating Narcotic Drug Abuse arrested I.B. due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs) and the criminal offense under Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (assault on an official while performing security duties), and handed him over to the premises of the Unit for Security of Objects and Detention of Persons Arrested of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton.

The prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton was informed about the incident, and police officers are continuing their work on documenting the mentioned criminal offenses.
