309 million KM more indirect taxes collected

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Indirect tax revenues in the first eight months of 2019 amounted to 5 billion and 259 million KM, an increase of 309 million KM or 6.23% compared to the same period in 2018, when they amounted to 4 billion and 950 million KM.

After the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina (UIO) refunded VAT to taxpayers in the amount of 992 million KM, the net collected revenues distributed to beneficiaries for the period January - August 2019, namely the state, entities, and Brčko District, amounted to 4 billion and 266 million KM, an increase of 246 million KM compared to the revenues received by beneficiaries from the Single Account in the same period of 2018.

The aforementioned 246 million KM in additional collected indirect taxes were distributed to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska, given that state institutions have been receiving a fixed amount from the Single Account for years.

For the financing of state institutions for the period January - August 2019, the amount of 496 million KM was distributed, as in previous years. The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina received 2 billion and 389 million KM, Republika Srpska 1 billion and 220 million KM, and Brčko District 130 million KM.

Based on the special toll for highway construction and the construction and reconstruction of other roads (0.25 KM), the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina received an additional 136.9 million KM, Republika Srpska 90.5 million KM, and Brčko District 4.6 million KM. The difference represents a reserve in a special toll account of 0.25 KM.
