Two train stations in Munich were reopened early Friday morning, after being closed on New Year's Eve due to "concrete intelligence on possible suicide bombings linked to an extremist movement related to the Islamic State", German police reported, as carried by Patria.
Trains can now again use the main train station in Munich, as well as another in the Pasing district, a police spokeswoman said, adding that officers will continue to conduct random checks on individuals.
The mentioned stations had been evacuated due to possible terrorist attacks on Thursday evening.
Citing information received from foreign intelligence services, Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann said the threat was linked to the Islamic State organization.
Allegedly, between five and seven suicide bombers were to take part in the attack.
