Prijedor police beat fans from Bihać, cursed their Muslim mothers

Shock and disbelief were experienced by the fans of Jedinstvo from Bihać, after the Prijedor police beat them in the police station on Saturday.
The fans state that the police officers beat them for three hours and took pleasure in reminding them of the crimes committed against the Bosniak population in Prijedor in 1992, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

In a letter that the group of fans „Sila nebeska“ sent to the media, it is stated that Dušan Popović, a high-ranking Prijedor police officer, threatened them with the words „If I weren't in the position I am currently in, I would cut you to pieces“.

The fans also state that the police officers in the station told one of their colleagues that they had abused his father in the same way in 1992, when more than 3,000 Bosniaks were killed in Prijedor. The frightened fan had a baton placed near his anus by a police officer, with threats of rape, after which he was also issued a misdemeanor citation of over 1,000 KM.

The football clubs Rudar Prijedor and Jedinstvo from Bihać played a friendly match at the stadium in Prijedor. After the match, the police arrested nearly 20 fans of Jedinstvo, due to a banner that reminded them of the Srebrenica and Prijedor crimes, after which, the fans claim, they experienced real hell.

The group of fans states that the Una-Sana Canton police refused to provide them with assistance. There is also medical documentation regarding the injuries they sustained in the police station.

- After the match, the police led us out of the stadium and immediately beat a guy who had a flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in his backpack; several other guys who had fan banners were also beaten. The fan who was in charge of transportation was hit by a police officer with both hands on both sides of his head – claim the Bihać fans.

They explain that they met the rest of the group at the police station, after which they experienced real hell that lasted three hours. The police beat and insulted them.

- They cursed and insulted us: „We're f***ing your Bosniak mother, now we're going to f*** you in the a**“ , „This is how we mistreated your father during the war“ – describe the fans. They add that they were also insulted with shouts: „Turk, we will drink your blood“, „I'm f***ing your Muslim mother.“

The group of fans from Bihać will request from the competent domestic and international institutions in BiH to review the entire case and to punish the police officers who participated in the torture of the Bosniak fans, reports.

In Prijedor, 29 Bosniak victims, killed by the army and police of Republika Srpska in 1992, will be buried today, reports NAP.
