Prijedor resident obtained a loan for cottage renovation through fraud

Police officers of the Criminal Police Sector, Public Security Center Prijedor, have submitted a report to the District Public Prosecutor's Office Banja Luka for the criminal offense of deception in obtaining loans or other benefits against N.R. from Prijedor, reports the Patria News Agency.

After the May floods in 2014, N.R. changed his residence to the address of a weekend house damaged by the floods, where he did not live at the time. He thus led the members of the Commission for assessing damage caused by floods to construction facilities in the City of Prijedor to categorize the facility as a residential building where he lived during the natural disaster, and thereby obtained the right to receive an electronic card-voucher as a form of assistance for repairing damage to residential buildings.

By using the voucher for the facility's renovation, N.R. illegally obtained property benefits in the amount of 3,963.00 KM, for which amount he also damaged the Solidarity Fund for the Reconstruction of the Republika Srpska.

During the activities to uncover abuses in the allocation of electronic cards, police officers of the Criminal Police Sector of the Public Security Center Prijedor, in March of this year, submitted a report to the District Public Prosecutor's Office Banja Luka for the same criminal offense against two individuals from Prijedor.

By presenting false information to the Commission for assessing damage caused by floods to construction facilities in the City of Prijedor, they obtained the right to receive vouchers for the renovation of those facilities, which were categorized as residential buildings based on the presented data, and not as weekend houses. In this way, they damaged the Solidarity Fund for the Reconstruction of the Republika Srpska by 9,451.00 KM, an amount for which they illegally obtained property benefits for themselves.

Police officers of the Public Security Center Prijedor are continuing their work to uncover other cases of abuse in the allocation of electronic cards (vouchers), it was announced from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska.
