Prijedor man walks into police station drunk and beats shift supervisor

Police officers of the Prijedor 1 Police Station last night at 21:40 arrested M.Š. (1975) from Prijedor in the premises of this police station, due to the criminal offense of assault on an official in the performance of official duties, announced the RS Ministry of Interior, reports the Patria news agency.

Namely, the suspect entered the police station shortly before the arrest in a visibly drunk state and, using derogatory words, immediately upon entry, without any provocation, struck the shift supervisor in the police station twice with a closed fist in the head area, after which he was arrested. An alcohol test performed on him revealed the presence of alcohol in his body at a concentration of 1.34 g/kg.

The police officer sustained minor bodily injuries during the attack. Work is underway to document and complete the case, after which a report on the committed criminal offense and the perpetrator will be submitted to the District Prosecutor's Office in Banja Luka, Branch Office Prijedor.

The Prijedor Public Security Center strongly condemns any attack on police officers during the performance of official duties and tasks, and every such attack will be a priority subject for determining the misdemeanor or criminal liability of the responsible persons, the statement reads.
