Prijedor Residents Bury 29 Bosniaks Killed in 1992

Prijedor residents are today burying 29 of their fellow citizens, who were killed during the last armed aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992, and whose remains were found in several mass graves in the area of Prijedor and neighboring municipalities, reports the news agency Patria.

The youngest victim to be buried today is Zikret Redžić, killed at the age of 18, and the oldest victim is Asim Žerić, killed at the age of 67.

The farewell and collective funeral prayer for the remains of the killed Bosniaks will be held at the stadium in the settlement of Hambarine, and the bodies will be buried in local cemeteries across Prijedor.

During the bloody attacks by the Serb army and police on Prijedor in 1992, more than 3,000 Bosniaks and Croats were killed, and thousands of people were taken to camps.

The remains of all killed Bosniaks have not yet been found. One of the largest mass graves in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tomašica, is located precisely in the Prijedor area, discovered in 2013, and it contained more than 400 complete and incomplete bodies, reports NAP.
