Prijedor: 19-year-old beat himself up, then reported being attacked

Police officers of the Prijedor 1 Police Station yesterday submitted a report to the District Public Prosecutor's Office Banja Luka, Prijedor Regional Office, for the criminal offense of false reporting of a criminal offense against R.G. (1996) from Prijedor, reports the Patria News Agency.

Namely, on December 21, R.G. came to the premises of the Prijedor 1 Police Station and reported that on the said day, in the area of the city of Prijedor, he had arranged to sell his mobile phone via an online classifieds website to an unknown person. He stated in the report that he had arrived at the agreed location, where two unknown persons were waiting for him, who physically attacked him, caused him bodily harm, and stole his mobile phone.

By taking measures and actions to clarify the reported incident, police officers determined that the said person had falsely reported the criminal offense, and that he had sold the phone to Č.F. shortly before the report. It was further determined that the suspect had inflicted the injuries on himself, and had spent the money from the sale of the mobile phone shortly before the report, it was announced from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska.
