Bill Proposal: House of Peoples of BiH to Decide Tomorrow on Fate of Swiss Franc Loan Users

Delegates in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH will discuss at tomorrow's session (December 10) the Proposal of the Law on the conversion of loans in Swiss francs into convertible marks of BiH, writes the news agency Patria.

This Law covers all loans that commercial banks in BiH approved to BiH citizens in CHF. If the Law is adopted, the conversion from CHF to KM will be carried out on the day of concluding the conversion agreement, at the then-current CHF-KM exchange rate.

If the Law is adopted, banks will be obliged to offer new agreements on conversion and debt rescheduling to loan users within 30 days.

In BiH, there are about 10,000 users of loans in Swiss francs, and more than 50,000 citizens are indirectly affected.
