28 years since a shell killed six children on Alipašino Polje

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - On this day, 28 years ago, an aggressor shell that fell among children while they were sledding, at Bosanska Street number 4, in the “C” phase of the Alipašino Polje settlement, in the Novi Grad Municipality, killed six of our youngest fellow citizens, and as many were wounded that day.

On this occasion, as a sign of remembrance for the killed children and the horrific crimes of destruction and killing during the siege of Sarajevo from 1992 to 1995, on behalf of the City of Sarajevo, city councilor Enisa Spahić paid tribute and laid flowers at the site of the tragedy.

On that fateful day, Indira Brković (1982), Jasmina Brković (1989), Mirza Dedović (1986), Danijel Jurenić (1983), Nermin Rizvanović (1981), and Admir Subašić (1986) were killed.

The commemoration of the sad anniversary was attended by, among others, the families and friends of the killed children, representatives of the Sarajevo Canton, the Novi Grad Municipality, the Union of Civilian War Victims of the Sarajevo Canton, and the Association of Parents of Killed Children of Besieged Sarajevo 1992-1995.
