On this day in 1992, the first massacre occurred on Alipašino Polje in Trg solidarnosti street up to number 14 (market), reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
From a shell fired from Serbian positions, eleven civilians were killed and 53 wounded while waiting in line for bread.
In the first massacre, the following were killed: Rifet Bahtić, Jasmin Đozo, Muniba Ganija, Nermin Gušić, Zoran Kafedžić, Sadrija Krasnić, Nadežda Puljić, Daniel Turkalj, Edin Uzunović, and two unidentified persons.
Another massacre occurred on November 9, 1993, at Trg ZAVNOBiH-a, where three students and teacher Fatima Gunić were killed, after whom the school would later be named.
On January 22, 1994, in Bosanska street, six children were killed by shelling, and as many were injured while sledding.
