By laying flowers and reciting Fatiha at the memorial built in memory of the brave fighters who gave their lives for the defense of the homeland, the 24th anniversary of the defense of Dobrinja, Airport settlement, C-5 settlement, Nedžarići and Brdo Mojmilo will be marked today in Sarajevo's Airport Settlement, reports the Patria News Agency.
From June 6 to June 21, 1992, day and night battles were fought in Dobrinja for the defense of this Sarajevo settlement. The last day was decisive. The fighting ended with the defense of Dobrinja on that day. On June 21, 1992, 27 fighters, mostly young men who fiercely defended this settlement, died.
The fighters of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina knew that if this part of the settlement fell, Dobrinja, Vojničko, and Alipašino Polje would also fall.
