23 years ago, on June 12, 1993, during the funeral prayer for Fadila Karšić, ten Sarajevans were killed and three wounded by a mortar shell fired from aggressor positions, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Laying flowers in front of the memorial plaque at the Budakovići cemetery, reciting the Fatiha, and observing a minute of silence marked the 23rd anniversary of the deaths of Edhem Borovina, Salko Bradić, Osman Curić, Asim Džaferović, Amir Džanko, Asim Konaković, Sejdalija Kurtić, Kasim Pintol, Smail Sarač, and Began Sarajkić.

The commemoration was attended by the families and friends of the victims, as well as representatives of the Sarajevo Canton.

On behalf of the City of Sarajevo, city councilors Alija Hodžić and Velija Katica laid flowers at the Budakovići cemetery and paid tribute to the slain citizens.
