Multiple crow attacks on Sarajevo residents reported, experts say it's common for this time of year

Several citizens from the Sarajevo area have reported being attacked by crows while walking down the street. One resident of Dobrinja experienced a shock this morning when a crow attacked her twice from behind and dug its claws into her head, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- I was scared, just as if someone had hit me with a fist. When I turned around I saw nothing, and then another blow to the head - the girl said.

The president of the Ornithological Society "Naše ptice", Dražen Kotrošan, said that crow attacks are common at this time of year because crows are defending their young.

- This is the period when young crows hatch from eggs. Some of them fall out of the nest, after which their mothers frantically search for them, and sometimes attack passersby - Kotrošan told NAP.

Crows can also attack, Kotrošan adds, if you startle them while they are eating around garbage containers.
