Report Corruption to Sarajevo Police via Online Application

Today, at the premises of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, Minister Nermin Pećanac, Secretary of the Center for Security Studies (CSS) Denis Hadžović, and Executive Director of the Initiative for Combating Crime and Resocialization (CSRI) Alma Kovačević, signed an agreement to activate an online application for reporting corruption via the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, reports the Patria News Agency.

As announced at the initial meeting five months ago, project activities for the implementation of this project, which provides citizens with another way to report corrupt activities, have begun and were finalized today.

The development of this online application was carried out within the framework of the project "Mapping Corruption Risks in the Security Sector," financially supported by the Delegation of the European Union to BiH, which began in December 2013.

The goal of the project is to create an analysis, explanation, and presentation to the wider public of a map of the main corruption risks in police, military, and security agencies in BiH.

This would be a continuation of the activities that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton began back in 2007 with the adoption of the Strategy for Combating Corruption, and the formation of the Operational Team for Combating Corruption. The corruption reporting application will be activated on the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton today, so citizens will immediately be able to report all information they obtain about potential corrupt activities to the competent services, and track the fate of their report from the moment they submit their findings to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton until the processing of the submitted data is completed.

This is another indicator of the real sensitivity of the authorities in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton in terms of a genuine contribution to a more effective fight against corruption, as one of the most dangerous and harmful phenomena in our society.
