Indirect tax revenues in the first four months of 2014 amounted to 1 billion and 914 million KM, an increase of 133 million KM compared to the same period in 2013 when they amounted to 1 billion and 781 million KM.
Out of this amount, the Indirect Taxation Authority (UIO) returned 357 million KM to the economy in the first four months, which is 27 million KM more than in the same period last year. The increase in VAT refunds to the economy was influenced by major infrastructure projects being implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina, such as the construction of highways in Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH, the Stanari Thermal Power Plant, and some users of internal processing with deferred payment switched to the customs clearance system and VAT refund after export.
For the financing of state institutions in the first four months of 2014, the same amount was allocated as in the previous year, totaling 245 million KM.
Thus, net revenues distributed to beneficiaries in the first four months of 2014, namely the state, entities, and Brčko District, amounted to 1 billion and 557 million KM, an increase of 106 million KM compared to the revenues received by beneficiaries from the Single Account in the first four months of 2013.
The surplus of collected indirect tax revenue amounting to 106 million KM went to the Federation of BiH, Republika Srpska, and Brčko District.
