Indirect tax revenues for FBiH down 15 percent compared to 2019

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Federal Government has accepted the monthly overview of tax revenue and contribution collection in the FBiH for the first nine months of 2020. In September, the available portion of indirect tax revenues from the Single Account, for budgets at all levels of government and road authorities in the Federation of BiH, amounted to a total of 163.6 million KM, which is 37.3 percent less compared to the same month in 2019. Compared to the collection from August of the current year, September shows a decrease of 13.7 percent. This decrease is not entirely caused by reduced current monthly collection, but is partly a result of the expected settlement between the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska in the distribution of revenues from the Indirect Taxation Authority's Single Account from previous periods.

In September 2020, 59.2 million KM was allocated to the FBiH Budget, which is 35.2 million KM less than in September 2019. The total portion of revenues for allocation to cantonal budgets amounted to 83.8 million KM, which is 49.8 million KM less. Available indirect tax revenues for allocation to municipal/city budgets amounted to 13.8 million KM, which is 8.2 million KM less compared to the same month last year.

When we look at the total available portion of indirect tax revenues for FBiH for the first nine months, the realization amounts to 1,856.6 million KM, and it is 15.4 percent less compared to the same period last year.

In September of this year, 355.3 million KM was collected for pension-disability, health, and unemployment insurance contributions. Of this amount, 298.3 million KM relates to direct payments by taxpayers, which is 4.4 percent less compared to the realization from September 2019. However, compared to the level of direct payments realized in August of the current year, they are 3.51 percent higher in September.

From January 1 to September 30, 2020, total revenues from contributions amount to approximately 2,685 million KM, and are 0.7 percent lower compared to the collection from the same period last year.
