Raids in Kakanj: FUP arrested five persons

Police officers of the Federal Police Administration today, acting on an order of the Municipal Court in Kakanj and under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Zenica-Doboj Canton, after a several-month-long investigation, are conducting raids at several locations in the area of the Kakanj municipality, the FUP announced, as reported by the Patria news agency.

In the said operation, five persons have been arrested so far, who are being linked to the criminal offense of „Association for the Purpose of Committing a Criminal Offense“ under Article 340 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in connection with the criminal offense of „Counterfeiting Credit and Other Cashless Payment Cards“ under Article 257 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The arrested are suspected that, in the period from October 2015 until today, using websites, i.e., forums located on Undernet locations, they unlawfully obtained data contained on bank cards of several hundred users from the areas of America, Brazil, and certain EU countries, thereby causing them damage in the total monetary amount of 20,000 BAM, while this action prevented damage in the amount of approximately 240,000 BAM.

The arrested will be brought to the official premises of the Federal Police Administration for criminal processing, after which they will be handed over to the competent prosecutor's office within the legal deadline, along with a Report on the committed criminal offense and the perpetrator.
The activities of police officers of the Federal Police Administration, with the assistance of police officers of the MUP of ZDK, PU Kakanj, are ongoing, the statement reads.
