Verdict for Ambulance Driver on Tuesday, June 24

The prosecution and defense presented their closing arguments today in the case against ambulance driver Adnan Salčin. He is accused of a serious traffic accident in Vogošća in 2011, in which a young cyclist, Haris Tvrtković, was seriously injured. Haris has been immobile and barely able to speak since then.

The pronouncement of the verdict is scheduled for Tuesday, June 24, at 3 PM. The Municipal Court will deliver its verdict for the second time then. After the first proceedings, the Cantonal Court overturned the acquittal for the driver because the judge did not consider the testimony of the prosecution's witnesses and did not explain why he gave credence only to the defense witnesses' statements.

Haris's parents hope that this time, when making the verdict, the judge will consider all testimonies, objectively assess the facts, and ultimately make a correct judgment about the accident in which, at least according to the lack of valid reasoning for the overturned verdict, not only their son but also a part of the system suffered, if a system even exists, reports Patria.
