The verdict for Vojislav Šešelj for war crimes committed in BiH, Croatia, and Vojvodina will be read by the end of March. The leader of the Serbian radicals said he would not voluntarily go to The Hague, which means that the authorities in Serbia will have to arrest him and extradite him to the Netherlands.
It was confirmed to Večernje novosti on Thursday in Scheveningen that the verdict is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of this year.
- One of the conditions and obligations under which Šešelj was released on temporary leave is that he appears before the chamber as soon as the judges order it. This means Šešelj is obliged to appear in court when the chamber orders him to, whether it is for the pronouncement of the verdict or for any other reason - Tribunal spokesperson Nenad Golčevski told this Belgrade daily.
Šešelj claims he is preparing for the upcoming elections in Serbia, and that he will not voluntarily go to The Hague, reports the Patria News Agency.
