Actor Ljubiša Samardžić dies

Actor and director Ljubiša Samardžić died last night at the age of 81, after a serious illness, Serbian media reported.

Samardžić was born into a mining family in 1936 in Skopje. He made his first role in the film "Igre na skelama". In the middle of the last century, he was one of the iconic faces of former Yugoslav cinematography, and in his career he achieved a total of 130 roles on the big screen and small screens.

Some of his most important roles were in the films "Bitka na Neretvi", "Sutjeska", "Bombaši", "Lude godine", "Rad na određeno vreme", "Nije lako sa muškarcima", "Magareće godine", "Ubistvo sa predumišljajem", "Nataša", "Konji vrani"…

He acted in the series "Povratak otpisanih", "Kuda idu divlje svinje", "Bolji život", "Jesen stiže, dunjo moja", „Viza za budućnost“ and others.
