Third girl dies following serious traffic accident in Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - On Friday afternoon on the A-1 highway at the Butile interchange, in the direction of Vlakovo - Stup, a serious traffic accident occurred in which two female individuals lost their lives at the scene. A BMW X5 car veered off the highway and hit a concrete pillar.

Three individuals were transported by ambulance to the Dr. Abdulah Nakaš General Hospital, where it was determined they had sustained severe injuries. The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed on Saturday morning that a third girl had also died.

The report from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton states that an unregistered BMW-X5 motor vehicle was involved in the accident. It had non-matching license plates 689-M-155 on the front and also non-matching license plates 669-E-I55 on the rear. The vehicle was driven by E.A. (1998) from Sarajevo, and the police state that passengers from the BMW, I.A. (2000) from Sarajevo and N.N. (2001) from Sarajevo, died at the scene. The third individual (2000) died at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo (KCUS).

The driver, identified by initials E.A. (1998), sustained severe bodily injuries and remains hospitalized. A girl identified by initials O.A. (2000) was also severely injured in the accident and is also receiving medical treatment.

A duty prosecutor is at the scene and is supervising the investigation.
