Prime Minister Zolj and Ambassador Heidari: Strengthening Economic and Tourist Cooperation

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister Adem Zolj and Minister of Economy Muharem Šabić received the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Heidari today on an official visit, who emphasized that he will support every form of future economic, tourist, and cultural cooperation.

- For years, we have been organizing a series of cultural programs, including the Iranian Film Days. The Persian-Bosnian College, as well as the Ibn Sina scientific research institute, are located in your canton - said Ambassador Heidari.

On this occasion, he informed Prime Minister Zolj that the governor of the Iranian province of Markazi is interested in visiting Sarajevo Canton for two days in mid-July to tour economic entities, as it is in their country's interest to stimulate the improvement of economic ties between the two countries.

- Iran is known worldwide for energy production, advanced and well-organized agriculture, as well as petrochemicals. More than 10 million Iranians travel the world, and I would be pleased if Bosnia and Herzegovina also became their mandatory and favorite destination - Ambassador Heidari conveyed.

Prime Minister Zolj expressed satisfaction with the announced visit of the Iranian delegation to Sarajevo Canton, as he believes it is very important to do everything in the coming period to strengthen, primarily economic and tourist, but also cultural ties.

- By deepening communication among peoples, prejudices are broken, and culture plays a significant role in this, which is why it is important for the people of Iran and their customs to be presented to our citizens through various events - Prime Minister Zolj emphasized.

Minister of Economy Šabić said that Sarajevo Canton is the 'locomotive of Bosnia and Herzegovina's economy', and that currently the IT sector, tourism, and the wood-metal industry are most influencing the overall economic development of the Canton, as well as the state of BiH, with their progress.

- Our economy is based on the operations of a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises, whose work we continuously support, which is why they are precisely the chance for us to enter the world market together with your businessmen - Minister Šabić proposed one of the methods for future cooperation.
