Prime Minister questioned by police: Vučić passed polygraph

Serbian Minister of Police Nebojša Stefanović announced that Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić was questioned at his own request and passed a polygraph, reports the Patria News Agency. 

Stefanović said that Aleksandar Vučić denied in the polygraph examination that he participated in the pressure, blackmail, and extortion of statements from the former director of Kurir, Aleksandar Kornic, and announced that an investigation would be conducted because of this.

"Aleksandar Vučić voluntarily answered questions and answered 'no' to all questions, and the lie detector showed that he was telling the truth. Aleksandar Vučić never met Kornic, did not sit with him anywhere, let alone in some cafe," Stefanović said at a press conference in Belgrade. 

Stefanović said that due to the accusations made in the Kurir newspaper, Vučić was asked the following questions: 

- Did he ever see Aleksandar Kornic, the former director of Kurir? 

- Did he ever meet with him? 

- Did he offer him money, a position in the party, or anything else in exchange for giving a false statement? 

"The Prime Minister answered 'no' to all these questions, and the lie detector showed that he was telling the truth," said Stefanović. 

He assessed that it is obvious that the lies were aimed at destabilizing the country, which is why an investigation will be conducted into who and with what goal disseminated such information. 

"The police will try to reach Kornic during the day, and after the report is submitted, I expect the Prosecutor's Office to make a statement," Stefanović added. 

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić was questioned by the police today on a polygraph regarding accusations by the daily newspaper Kurir that he participated in the extortion and blackmail of the former director of that newspaper, Aleksandar Kornic. 

Stefanović confirmed that the police arrested S.M., a former member of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs, a member of the Bar criminal group, who was caught eight times approaching the home of the Vučić family. 

Stefanović said that the security of the Prime Minister and all state officials who could be endangered will be maximally increased, B92 reports.
