Microsoft is preparing its first AI computers

Competition for OpenAI

While ChatGPT became synonymous with artificial intelligence for many this year, numerous new AI models and tools were introduced throughout the year. Andres Guadamuz, an expert in copyright law, believes that one or two rulings will be made next year that could “clarify things” regarding the relationship between AI training and copyright, although he believes it will take up to five years for things to be fully settled.

While an agreement has been reached in the EU regarding regulation, discussions are still ongoing in the US about how this technology should be regulated. While it is clear to everyone that some rules and limitations should exist so that this development does not go in the wrong direction, there is a fear that the adoption of restrictive laws could affect the reduction of innovation and competitiveness in the market.
